Supernatural, focuses primarily on the brothers Sam Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Dean Winchester, played by Jensen Ackles, as they travel throughout the country hunting the supernatural.

　　The story begins with the death of the brothers' mother. But Sam was too young to understand what happened or who his mother was like and thus becomes the so-called "reluctant hero", who, unlike Dean, intends to live a normal and wealthy life, as indicated in Season 1 Episode 1 of Supernatural Seasons 1-6 Box Set.

　　Jessica is Sam's girlfriend and very supportive. Sam keeps his family secret of hunting the supernatural from her and sometimes refuses to accept the truth he is born with the gift and responsibility. With his high LSAT score, Sam has his dreams of becoming a lawyer, getting married and living a wealthy life. On the other hand, Dean is pursuing his father's career, and meanwhile searching for the supernatural killer of his mother, being still poor at the age of 26.

　　Dean shows up at Sam's home. Though the brothers have not spoken in years, Dean comes looking for help in finding their father, who disappeared while hunting a supernatural entity. Sam agrees to help until Monday because he has an interview for a full scholarship.

　　As they drive to their father, John's last known whereabouts, a scary story awaits. They happen to find the room in the hotel John checked in, with much information about the ghost's kills and her experience before death. The journal that always keeps John company is left behind and so is the hunting of the ghost. There must be something urgent, they guess. With their cooperation, they defeat the ghost. Sam still does not want to join the search for their father, so Dean drops him off at his apartment, where Jessica is supposed to be waiting. Then Dean goes on the trip to find their missing father.

　　When Dean visits to bring Sam along to look for their father, Jessica worries that Sam will lose his chance in university by following his brother, but Sam reassures her that he will be back before Monday.

　　At some point during the end of the weekend, Jessica makes cookies as a welcome present for Sam, before she is killed in the same way that Sam’s mother was killed; sliced across the stomach on the ceiling. When Sam saw Jessica, she seemed to still be alive, but soon burst into flames.

　　Since then, the matured Sam becomes aware of the truth of his mother's death. And the reluctant hero joins Dean on the trip to the mysterious and supernatural.
