The 1st Secret About House M.D.

Cheap DVD / 2011-10-20

To learn the truth about the television series, House M.D., you will first have to differentiate it from any of the conventional medical shows. Viewers would not actually see white coats going down the hallway in the hospital, as was stipulated by the then-president, Gail Berman. This stipulation was one of the many influences that led to the show's ultimate form.

After Fox picked up the show, it acquired the working title Chasing Zebras, Circling the Drain ("zebra" is medical slang for an unusual or obscure diagnosis, while "circling the drain" refers to terminal cases, patients in an irreversible decline). The original premise of the show was of a team of doctors working together trying to "diagnose the undiagnosable". Shore felt it was important to have an interesting central character, one who could examine patients' personal characteristics and diagnose their ailments by figuring out their secrets and lies. As Shore and the rest of the creative team explored the character's possibilities, the program concept became less of a procedural and more focused upon the lead role.

When a show comes to a certain profession, the common viewers become bored. The show factually centers on the controversial principal, Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), who is an unconventional and misanthropic medical genius heading a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH).

Revecca Adler, a 29-year-old kindergarten teacher, becomes dysphasic and collapses in her classroom. Dr. Gregory House shows his oddness at the critical moment by refusing to treat the patient as he is not "interested" in such a dying woman. But Dr. James Wilson managed to talk him into helping her. Soon he diagnoses Rebecca with cerebral vasculitis and her condition improves with treatment. However, the improvement does not last long. Rebecca suddenly loses her vision and suffers another seizure. The ham found in Rebecca's fridge in her place reveals to House the cause of the seizure—tapeworms. After the first wrong diagnosis, Rebecca wants no more of any rootless diagnosis.House tries to talk sense to her, and reveals his damaged leg, arising from an incorrect diagnosis, which requires him to use a cane, to Rebecca in vain.

House suggests fighting the disease instead of waiting for death. Doctor House does have a lot to be discovered. In House M.D. DVD Box Set Season 1 Pilot, there is a lot to be learnt. Go find the 1st secret about House M.D.
